Tap Remove This Device when the phone is erased, then tap Remove afterward. All of your data and settings are deleted, Activation Lock is turned off, and someone else can now activate the device.

When you shut down your device using Find My iPhone, it is deleted from the device list. It also disables the Activation lock on your former iPhone. When you remove your iPhone from iCloud, everything on it will be erased as well. Everything is secure and safe after this because your data has been removed

When you select Erase All Content and Settings, your device will be deleted completely, including any Apple Pay or pictures, contacts, music, or apps that you’ve added. It’ll also shut down iCloud, iMessage, FaceTime, Game Center, and other services.

On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > Your Name. Scroll down and you’ll see a list of all the devices linked to your Apple account. You’ll see every gadget that’s linked to your Apple account. Choose any name in the list and remove it by tapping Remove from Account. Then confirm by repeating these.

The process permanently removes all data from your phone (but not SD cards). Find My Device won’t work on the phone after you erase it. If you discover your phone after erasing, you’ll almost certainly need your Google Account password to use it again.
